Our Black Wedding Dress Styled Shoot in Detroit,Michigan

This beautiful Styled Shoot was recently featured on Wedding Day Magazine, one of the most prominent Wedding Day Magazines in the Midwest! It is the result of the efforts of state of the art Michigan Wedding Vendors who worked together to bring an artistic moodboard into reality.

The idea of an alternative black wedding dress came from myself- Manal from Brides and Tailor, and Brittany from Great Lakes Event Planning! We pictured a stunning black ball gown in a modern and lighter colored venue. The choice of Gold/Black color tones turned out to be just gorgeous! All the elements complemented each other so nicely and beautifully.

The Wedding Dress and veil were a showstopper! When I was working on the design of this gown, I wanted it to be in Black but not too Gothic-y. I wanted beading to be placed over the lace to give it some sort of a 3D effect, and beautiful volume to make it truly bridal. The final result turned out to be gorgeous, with hundreds of small pieces of beading added all over the gown from top to bottom. The veil also had the same design of the dress with lace and beadings to create a timeless look!

Brittney from Great Lakes Event Planning made it a breeze to work together on this shoot. Most of the people do not know how much of hard work it takes to produce this beautiful work of Art, and I must say this group of vendors were just OUTSTANDING. Lauren, our photographer, was amazing and focused on capturing even the tiniest of details. Her photos are so beautiful and airy! Douglas, our videographer, was also awesome to work with! He made sure all the videos taken reflected both behind the scenes footage and live videos from the actual shoot.

Our models were so great to work with too! The atmosphere was just so much fun! Katelynn’s makeup consisted of a beautiful smokey eye and bold red lipstick by Norma, and the hair was hairstyled into a beautiful classic up-do by Carleana! Bradley wore a black tux as well, so it was all a matchy-match!

The beautiful white,gold and green tones floral work by Plum Market was just so classy and elegant, and the stunning floral arch was created by the talented Joy who paints each one of these petals individually. This is honestly just the perfect backdrop to any bridal party! The stationary created by Lyndsay was so moody and edgy- I loved the calligraphy in there!

The venue for this shoot was chosen because of its bright and airy aesthetic. The Roostertail is honestly one of the most beautiful venues in Detroit!It is the perfect combination for indoor/outdoor weddings!  Paired with the moody colors of the bride’s dress, this contrast is a match made in heaven! The cake was exclusively made by Karlee, and its beautiful gold and black mix truly complemented the rest of the moodboard!

One of the most beautiful aspects of the table were the gorgeous black linen colors provided by Luxe Event Linen, rentals by event Source and Upstage Kzoo’s candleholders, golden glass cups without forgetting the statement peacock chair. Needless to say, Britt did an awesome job setting everything up and making sure it was all picture-perfect! Since we wanted to touch on a moody trend for this shoot, black cake, a black dress, black acrylic chairs and black velvet linens are ahead of the trend!
